Other facilities

Bluewater Care Home has been carefully restored to provide a unique and relaxing environment. These are some of the facilities we have in-house.

Hair and beauty salon

This was created as a social hub for our residents. With bright and cheerful décor, and chairs straight from the 1960s, including an original barber’s chair, it has the authentic feel of a hairdresser’s from the Swinging Sixties.

All kinds of treatment and hair styling are available, including podiatry, foot massage, hand massage and a range of other therapies.

Resident rooms and suites

Popcorn, a film, and a clapperboard

Regal cinema room

We have an authentic 1930s style cinema room. With a collage of stars and seating from the era, it will take you back to another time. While we have vintage Cine cameras on display, we use modern technology and surround sound to screen a selection of films from every era.

There’s an interval during screenings during which refreshments are served. And we have an essential oil scenting the room and enhancing the experience.

A row of beach huts

Sensory room

Being at the beach is a favourite pastime for the British. Our sensory room was designed with a beach theme. With everything from the sound of waves, seagulls and children playing to the smell of the sea, it will take you to fond memories of the seaside.

There’s a boat seat, deck chairs, a shell surface, and delightful murals painted on the walls by a local artist, and our beach hut tops it all off. It’s the ideal place to relax.

The dining room

We serve three meals a day in our luxurious dining room. Our cook and manager work together to change the menu on a daily basis (click here to see our menus), whipping up food that’s both nutritious and appetising. We always have alternatives too, so there’s always something to choose from. We also have snack food and fruits in our three internet cafe fridges.

Members of our team are highly experienced and some have previously catered for royalty, including the late Princess Diana and the ex-king Constantine of Greece.

Families and visitors are welcome to dine with their relative. A small fee is requested with booking required. There will be themed events throughout the year that will be advertised on our notice board, our monthly newsletter and web site.

Racks of candles

Multi faith services

Based in our cinema room is our multi-faith chapel area. It has an 18th century ecclesiastical pulpit recovered from the United Reform Church in Brading on the Isle of Wight, which Queen Victoria was said to frequent.
